PMU Aftercare

Aftercare

Day 1

· Blot your brows with the provided water wipes every 45-60 minutes for 3-4 hours post treatment then leave them to dry heal

· Avoid getting them wet as much as possible but you will want to wash your face around the brow area to remove any remaining pigment on the skin

Days 2-30

· Starting the next morning, you will wash your brows with an antibacterial soap/After Inked Foam Cleanser, pat dry, and apply your After Inked Ointment morning and night for 10 days

· Apply a pea size amount of ointment with a clean finger, avoiding a cotton swab because it may catch on your healing brows

· Wash your brows in gentle circular motions, avoid harsh rubbing or back and forth rubbing

· No picking at the brows while healing

· No heavy sweating of the brow area for 10 days, avoid hot yoga, HIIT, cardio, etc.

· No exfoliation around the brow area for 14 days

· No lamination or tinting of the brows for 14 days minimum

· No Botox/injectables in brow area for 2 weeks

· No tanning the brow area for 4 weeks, keep covered under a hat/shade/visor· No saunas, hot tubs, underwater activities for 4 weeks

6-8 Week Touch Up

· The touch up requires the same pre and post care as your first session so as you prepare to come in for your 6-8 week touch up, be mindful of your topical products, avoiding Botox/injectables 2 weeks before your appointment, sun exposure as well as any active break outs in the brow area

Long Term

· To protect the brows from premature fading, the following is recommended:

        · SPF 50 should be worn on your brows when out in the sun at all times

        · A topical zinc should be applied to the brows when undergoing any laser treatments of the face

        · Avoid chemical exfoliation to the brows

· There is no guaranteed results for how long your brows will last before needing a touch up, but touch ups are required to maintain desired results, typically touch ups are done around 2 years or so depending on your skin type and lifestyle

· Maintenance may be required to maintain desired results, in some cases hair removal is still beneficial in maximizing the look of your new brows

What to Expect

Days 1-7

· During the treatment you may feel slight discomfort, however you will be numbed, and some people even get in a nap

· During the treatment you may experience the sensation of needing to sneeze or your eyes may water

· Towards the end of the treatment you may start feeling a bit more sensitive and tender

· Immediately after you may have some redness and swelling and your brows will appear darker in color with harsher edges than we are aiming for, the color may also be more warm in tone and will cool down once healed

· A few days in you will notice your brows start to crack and flake and appear patchy - do not pick - and the flakes may slough off during cleaning which is normal

Days 8-14

· Around this time you will most likely feel like your brows are very patchy, seem like the pigment is gone or very light in tone

Days 15-30

· Around this time you will see the color reappearing about 30% softer than when you initially had them done

· Everyone's healing varies depending on their skin type however the general healing time is 4 weeks - our skin cells are on a 28 day regenerating cycle (which slows as we age) so true results will not be visible until 4 weeks at a minimum

6-8 Week Touch Up

· Your Touch Up is the final step to completing your brows. I will take the time to ensure that every aspect is just right, from shape to color. I want you to feel confident and beautiful with your new look, and our touch up service ensures that you leave feeling satisfied. As a reminder, the touch up requires the same pre and post care as your first session.
